The word of God includes scripture but cannot be confined and defined by scripture alone. When we work toward providing catechumens with an encounter with the living Word of God — the Logos — we have to do more than Bible study.
The Advent-Christmas season, and nativity scenes in particular, teach us how to both enter into the event of God’s living Word and become the incarnation of God’s word for others.
