Reading II
Beloved:
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is begotten by God, and everyone who loves the Father loves also the one begotten by him….
The way of faith
- By love, God has revealed himself and given himself to us. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 68)
- Baptism imprints on the soul an indelible spiritual sign, the character, which consecrates the baptized person for Christian worship. Because of the character baptism cannot be repeated. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1280)
- Those who die for the faith, those who are catechumens, and all those who, without knowing of the church but acting under the inspiration of grace, seek God sincerely and strive to fulfill God’s will, can be saved even if they have not been baptized. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1281)
