1
Foundation
Build a firm foundation. When you ground the catechumenate in solid principles, the RCIA no longer is just another parish group. It is the work of all the baptized that transforms everything. Master some key foundational elements, and you will have more confidence, be able to discern the movement of the Spirit, and lower your stress.
2
Evangelization
Become a master evangelist. We don’t often talk about our work in RCIA as evangelization. Yet it’s the essential first step to faith and the reason the church exists. Making disciples begins with communicating the Gospel for each seeker so that the Spirit opens their hearts and minds to follow Christ.
3
Catechesis
Teach as Jesus taught. The catechumenate is a training in Christian life that has a curriculum and a way of teaching that might not be what you expect but it makes all the difference. Make the shift from running a class to accompanying apprentices, from being a teacher to becoming a mystagogue.
4
Liturgy
Worship in Spirit and Truth. The liturgies of the catechumenate are essential to making disciples because they are where we encounter Christ most fully. And every encounter with Christ is a door to conversion. Learn to celebrate the rituals with excellence and how to form catechumens and candidates through the liturgy.
What your colleagues say about TeamRCIA
All you produce is excellent. Such an easy ‘one stop shop’ that provides resources that are exceedingly accessible and respectful of where people are at and at the same time challenging because they are theologically sound in every way.
