At every baptism, and especially baptism during the Easter Vigil, the Litany of Saints is an important part of the baptismal rite. The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults gives us several directives and options for the Litany of Saints and how to incorporate the names of the saints of your parish and region and even the names of your elect who will be baptized.
In this short video, Diana goes over those rubrics, how to highlight the names of your elect in the Litany of Saints, and other ways to make this significant moment of the Easter Vigil a beautiful reflection of the communion of saints walking together on the journey to eternal life.

I love this necessary instruction. I pray daily that more and more Priest-Presiders and Catechumenate ministers avail themselves of the riches of the rubrics in the RCIA Rites and the Roman Missal. Adding the names of the Elect to the Litany is another beautiful moment to cherish. On an aside, I have been known to sing the Litany of the Saints during the Rite of Final Commendation, using the name of the deceased as the final Saint’s name prior to concluding the Litany. Best to you and Nick.
