The Year of Saint Paul
Reading II
Brothers and sisters:
Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing.
In all circumstances give thanks,
for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus….
The way of faith
- The church invites the faithful to regular prayer: daily prayers, the Liturgy of the Hours, Sunday Eucharist, the feasts of the liturgical year. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2720)
- The church must “pray constantly.” It is always possible to pray; it is even a vital necessity. Prayer and Christian life are inseparable. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2757)
- The church firmly believes that on the Day of Judgment we all will appear in our own bodies before Christ’s tribunal to render an account of our own deeds. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1059)
