The Year of Saint Paul
Reading II
Christ has been raised from the dead,
the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
The way of faith
- The title “Son of God” signifies the unique and eternal relationship of Jesus Christ to God his Father: he is the only Son of the Father; he is God himself. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 454)
- The title “Lord” indicates divine sovereignty. To confess or invoke Jesus as Lord is to believe in his divinity. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 455)
- At the end of time, the Kingdom of God will come in its fullness. Then the just will reign with Christ for ever, glorified in body and soul, and the material universe itself will be transformed. God will then be “all in all” in eternal life. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1060)
