The Year of Saint Paul
Reading II
Concerning times and seasons, brothers and sisters, you have no need for anything to be written to you. For you yourselves know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief at night.
The way of faith
- At the end of time, the Kingdom of God will come in its fullness. Then the just will reign with Christ for ever, glorified in body and soul, and the material universe itself will be transformed. God will then be “all in all” in eternal life. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1060)
- The Word of God is a light for our path. We must assimilate it in faith and prayer and put it into practice. This is how moral conscience is formed. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1802)
- Every society’s judgments and conduct reflect a vision of humanity’s destiny. Without the light the Gospel sheds on God and humanity, societies easily become totalitarian. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2257)
